WLAN Measurement Suite

A complete suite of measurement functions to analyze IEEE 802.11 WLAN transmitter RF performance in conjunction with 3030 Series RF digitizers.

  • Transmit power
  • Transmit burst length
  • Transmit power on, off timing
  • Spectral mask
  • Occupied bandwidth
  • Frequency tolerance
  • Symbol/chip clock frequency tolerance
  • Carrier suppression/leakage
  • Skew/Gain imbalance
  • Modulation accuracy (EVM)
  • Spectral flatness
  • MIMO measurements
  • DSSS and OFDM equalization

The WLAN measurement suite performs analysis of IEEE 802.11a, b, g, n and ac PHY (physical layer) RF transmission parameters using digital IQ data making it ideal for use in conjunction with Aeroflex 3030 Series RF digitizers to perform precision characterization and alignment of WLAN transmitters. The WLAN measurement suite is a software application that expands the capabilities of PXI Studio for manual signal characterization. Programming libraries are provided with additional C++, VB and .NET interfaces for use in a broad range of application software development environments such as LabVIEW™, LabWindows™/CVI, Visual Basic, Visual C/C++ and Visual Studio.

The WLAN measurement suite is designed for PXI based RF test systems used in the development and manufacturing of mobile radio transmitters, sub-modules and RFICs (radio frequency integrated circuits). The measurement suite enables the PXI 3000 to transfer its high speed, performance and flexibility benefits to the production floor for efficient RF testing of WLAN interfaces.
