Position Summary

This candidate is responsible for the design, verification and implementation of semiconductor memory products starting from customer or internally developed specifications. Responsibilities range from the design of standard memory cells or analog support cells at the transistor level to design and synthesis of digital control blocks and top level chip integration. In this position one would be required to work both as an individual contributor and as part of a team within the Standard Products Business unit of Aeroflex Colorado Springs.
Requirements

College Degrees: BSEE required and 5 years related semiconductor experience
A successful candidate would perform the following tasks:
  • Create original IC circuit designs and capture the transistor level schematics using industry standard CAD tools.
  • Develop designs meeting industry practices and guidelines related to “Design for Test” and “Design for Manufacturing”.
  • Simulate analog circuits using industry standard and proprietary CAD tools.
  • Perform analog and mixed mode verification simulations on existing circuitry.
  • Modify or optimize existing analog designs to meet new designs targets.
  • Translate existing designs into newer sub-micron CMOS processes.
  • Work with physical design engineers in the floor planning and layout of custom CMOS circuitry.
  • Work with physical design engineers to resolve LVS and DRC issues with designed circuitry.
  • Develop and document IC circuit specifications.
  • Work as part of a team to develop circuit architectures and specifications for new products.

Ideal Candidates would have the following Skills or Experience:
  • A working knowledge of Cadence analog design environment.
  • A working knowledge of HSPICE and Spectre simulation platforms.
  • Experience with Digital IC simulators such as MODELISM.
  • Experience with Detail IC tools including but not limited to Primetime and Formality.
  • Experience designing CMOS memory devices.
  • Experience designing custom CMOS support circuitry
  • Familiarity with semiconductor memory cell architecture at the transistor level.
  • Familiarity with high level memory architecture at the ship level.
  • Familiarity and design experience with analog circuits such as op amps, regulators, oscillators and voltage/current references.
  • Familiarity with stand cell library design and characterization.
  • Familiarity with high reliability and harsh environment design techniques.
